Building applications, supporting delivery across projects, and enabling non-technical teams to build safely at speed.
01 — About the role

What you'll be doing

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help design, build and support a range of applications across our project portfolio. You will work end-to-end — from data model and API through to front-end — on both new products and established client systems, and you will help keep delivery moving across several projects at once.

This is a hands-on senior role for an engineer who is fluent across the modern stack and equally comfortable on AWS and Google Cloud. Just as importantly, we work in an AI-assisted way: we expect you to be highly effective with agentic coding tools — Claude Code in particular — and to help shape how those tools are configured and used well across the team, so that AI genuinely accelerates delivery rather than adding noise.

A defining part of this role is enablement. You will set the direction for our product owners and non-technical product specialists to build software themselves — safely, but with speed. Rather than every change flowing through a traditional request-build-deliver cycle where development is the bottleneck, you will give those people the guardrails, tooling and patterns to ship their own work, while you own the quality and release gates that keep it safe. In short: you make it possible for the wider organisation to build at pace, and you are accountable for the standards that let them do so without breaking things.

You will set technical direction on the projects you touch, raise the quality bar through good software design, and mentor others in both engineering craft and effective use of AI tooling.

02 — Key responsibilities

Where you'll have impact

/01

Building & supporting applications

Design and build full-stack applications — front-end, back-end, APIs and data layer — to a high standard of quality, security and maintainability.
Support and improve existing systems across the project portfolio: triage issues, fix bugs, pay down technical debt and keep services healthy in production.
Own delivery on your projects end-to-end, from scoping and estimation through implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
Contribute across multiple projects concurrently, prioritising sensibly and communicating clearly when work spans several client engagements.
/02

Cloud & infrastructure

Design, deploy and operate workloads on AWS and Google Cloud — including compute, serverless, storage, databases, networking and identity.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code so environments are reproducible and releases are safe.
Apply cloud best practice around cost, observability, resilience and security across both platforms.
/03

AI-assisted engineering

Core to the role
Use agentic AI tools effectively in day-to-day development — Claude Code in particular — to accelerate delivery while keeping full ownership of code quality and correctness.
Configure the tooling for the way we work: set up project memory and configuration, tune permissions to cut repetitive prompts while keeping guardrails, and use hooks to enforce standards automatically.
Design and manage subagents (for example scoped, read-only code-review or test-runner agents) and use worktree-based parallel sessions so long or multi-part tasks run reliably without losing context.
Understand and work with MCP (Model Context Protocol): how MCP servers interlink tools, data sources and services, and how to wire them into the team's development workflow safely.
/04

Enabling product owners & non-technical builders

Set the direction for citizen development: define how product owners and non-technical product specialists can safely build and ship software themselves, so development is no longer the bottleneck in the request-build-deliver cycle.
Own the quality and release gates for that work — automated tests, review checkpoints, environment controls and deployment approvals — so speed never comes at the cost of safety or stability.
Build the guardrails, templates and paved paths (reusable patterns, scaffolding, pre-approved components and AI-tool configuration) that let non-engineers move quickly within safe boundaries.
Coach and support the wider organisation in building well — turning product specialists into confident, safe contributors rather than routing every change through the development team.
/05

Software design & quality

Bring strong software design judgement — clean architecture, sensible abstractions, well-defined interfaces and clear separation of concerns.
Champion engineering quality through code review, automated testing, documentation and pragmatic technical standards.
Mentor and level-up the team on both engineering craft and effective, safe use of AI tooling.
03 — Essential skills & experience

What you'll bring

01Senior-level full-stack experience building and shipping production web applications end-to-end.
02Strong across the modern stack: a mainstream back-end language and framework (e.g. Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, Java or similar) plus a modern front-end framework (e.g. React, Vue or Angular).
03Hands-on production experience with AWS and Google Cloud, including deploying and operating real workloads on both.
04Solid API and data fundamentals: REST and/or GraphQL, relational and NoSQL databases, and sound data modelling.
05Proven, effective use of AI coding tools (Claude Code or equivalent agentic assistants) as part of a professional workflow — not just occasional autocomplete.
06Working understanding of MCP and how AI tools connect to external tools, data and services.
07Strong software design skills: architecture, design patterns, separation of concerns and writing maintainable, testable code.
08CI/CD and DevOps competence, including automated testing and infrastructure-as-code.
09A track record of enabling others to deliver: setting up guardrails, quality gates and paved paths so less-technical people can build and release safely — not just shipping code yourself.
10Excellent communication and the ability to work autonomously in a remote, multi-project environment.
04 — Desirable

Nice to have

Experience configuring Claude Code in depth — project memory, permissions, hooks, subagents and worktree-based parallel sessions.
Experience building or integrating MCP servers, or wiring AI tooling into team development workflows.
Relevant AWS and/or Google Cloud certifications.
Experience in an agency, consultancy or multi-client delivery environment.
Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience integrating LLMs or AI features into production applications.
05 — What you'll get

Why join us

01
A senior role with real ownership across a varied portfolio of projects.
02
A genuinely AI-forward engineering culture with modern tooling and the autonomy to shape how we use it.
03
Fully remote working with flexibility.
04
Support for continued learning, certification and professional development.
